Video + Marketing = Video Marketing?

To help you understand what video marketing is, we decided to break it down for you!

Video: the recording, reproducing, or broadcasting of moving visual images.
Marketing: the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.

Video is an easily accessible platform that we’ve all used at one point or another (whether it was watching a show on tv or cat videos on youtube). At its most basic level, video is something that is relatively easy to understand and take advantage of.
Marketing, on the other hand, can be a little bit more complicated.

At its core, marketing is basically how you sell or get the word out about your products or services. Marketing is your plan of attack for how you win the attention and patronage of any potential consumers.

So then what happens when you add video to your marketing plan? Magical things! With video marketing, you can reach out to potential consumers in a whole new way. Videos can be as long or as short as you need to tell the story of your brand or just promote a single product. A 30 second video can convey a surprising amount of information about you or your products. And with things like the autoplay feature on facebook and instagram, you can really catch someone’s attention and draw them into your marketing video.

When developing your video marketing strategy, there are a few important things to consider.
One thing to consider is which platform you want to use. Facebook has almost 1.4 billion active users and shares almost one billion videos per day. Instagram has over 300 million users, but is limited by its 15-second maximum length. Depending on which platform you use, the amount of time you have for a video will help to determine the next thing to think about: content. What do you want your video(s) to say? Do you want to tell the story of your brand or do you want the video to be about a new product? Another thing to think about with your video marketing strategy is your posting schedule. Would you want to upload one video to facebook every day or week or month? Or would you maybe like to upload several short videos to instagram each week?

Videos can be simple, and when combined with a sound marketing strategy can create something incredible for you and your business!
